We are happy to announce the AEGIS software release 2.0 with groundbreaking software updates on the Blickfeld Percept software, running on our smart LiDAR sensors.
Blickfeld’s Cube sensors are now eligible of carrying the Korea Certification (KC) mark, verifying the product’s compliance with the requirements of the industry standards for electromagnetic compatibility in South Korea.
Percept software version 1.6 adds a new reset value feature to the volume measurement zone and further improves general performance and stability requirements, including an improved user interface for managing large project setups.
Our Percept software version 1.3 empowers users to continuously measure bulk volumes enabling e.g. just-in-time stockpile management. Additional features include the creation of multiple zones with the same setting and auto-alignment of the sensor’s point cloud to the virtual ground.
The Blickfeld “Cube 1 Outdoor” LiDAR sensor is protected in accordance to IP65 against ingress of dust and jets of water from all directions. Power-over-Ethernet technology simplifies installation and maintenance, reduces the number of accessories required and thus the complexity of comprehensive LiDAR systems.
LiDAR manufacturer and perception software provider Blickfeld enables Smart LiDAR functionality on their sensors. This makes Blickfeld sensors the first LiDAR sensors that not only collect detailed 3D data but are also capable of computing and providing enriched information through on-device pre-processing. This pre-processing is an industry first and is accomplished by a high-performance computing chipset integrated into the LiDAR. The first feature introduced by Blickfeld is a pre-processing algorithm that enables motion detection. As a result, Smart LiDARs offer easier, faster, and more cost-effective integration into applications and solutions.
Blickfeld is pleased to announce that our software library, known as the Blickfeld Scanner Library (BSL), is now available as an open-source project. Timor Knudsen, the Lead of Embedded Software, explains what the Blickfeld Scanner Library is used for, who will benefit from it, and why it is being made available as an open-source project.
