This strategic move focuses on the increasing importance of 3D LiDAR technology for modern security systems. The ability to deliver precise and reliable spatial data in real-time makes 3D LiDAR indispensable for applications such as perimeter protection, intrusion detection, and safeguarding critical infrastructure.
In 2024, Blickfeld launched a LiDAR sensor specifically tailored to meet the needs of the security market. QbProtect processes high-density 3D data directly on the device, enabling accurate threat detection with minimal false alarms. The sensor seamlessly integrates with common VMS platforms, making it an essential addition for precise and reliable security systems.
The new Business Unit is led by Andreas Bollu, who has been a key part of the Blickfeld team since 2017, starting with a master’s thesis at the company. He later worked as an engineer in opto-electronics, contributing to product development. Since 2021, he has focused on the security sector, successfully shaping the business area and building a loyal customer base.
With the creation of the Security Business Unit and the specialized QbProtect product, Blickfeld is making a strong commitment to the security industry and aims to position QbProtect as the global leader in 3D LiDAR technology for security.
