The wide range of possible use cases for Blickfeld LiDAR sensors was once again reflected in the trade fair participation in the fall of 2022. Three completely different application areas were in focus from September to November. Blickfeld solutions were of great interest at leading international trade fairs for security, powder and bulk solids processing, and smart cities.
Reduced false alarm rates in perimeter protection fascinate at Security Essen
After four years, the security industry met once again in Essen. The Blickfeld security end-to-end solution not only makes it possible to detect intruding objects and persons in the secured area reliably but also to measure distance and size very precisely. This allows to effectively avoid false alarms, for example, triggered by small animals or vegetation. This is especially relevant for the protection of critical infrastructures or production facilities. Hence, decision-makers from authorities, managers of large factory sites, and managing directors of installation companies met at the Blickfeld booth. Also, the focus of Raphael Peyman’s presentation at the Security Experts Forum was on the protection of critical infrastructure.
No more estimating and counting shovels at Powtech
Already in the following week, everything revolved around Volume Monitoring at the Blickfeld booth in Nuremberg. Powtech is the leading trade fair for powder and bulk solids processing and analytics. Whether sand, feed, or fertilizer: bulk materials are often stored in silos, bunkers, or piles and although scales, visual controls, or other inspection mechanisms are usually in use, discrepancies between calculated and actual stocks quickly occur. This can lead to severe problems in production processes. With the Blickfeld LiDAR solution, it is possible to monitor volumes in real time and thus optimize production processes. Joachim Dilger presented the technology in his talk on ” Accurate on-demand volume measurement of bulk materials with 3D LiDAR Sensors” and live volumes were measured at the Blickfeld booth.
Focus on the cities of tomorrow in Barcelona
The Smart City Expo World Congress gathers thousands of stakeholders to discuss the development of cities every year in Barcelona. Christian Waizenegger, Vice President Sales & Business Development, spent three intensive days there, giving a presentation on “LiDAR for Smart Cities”, participating in a panel discussion on “‘(When) Will Autonomous Driving Create Value for Cities”, giving a video interview for eeNews and showcasing the Blickfeld solution at our booth in the Bavarian Pavilion. The application areas for LiDAR sensors in smart cities are diverse and range from smart traffic lights for automated traffic flow management to autonomous delivery robots and the analysis of people numbers and movements.
Completion of a successful trade show year
This marks the end of a successful exhibition year for Blickfeld in 2022. We would like to thank all visitors and are already looking forward to the events planned for 2023.
